The NEW Chief Steamer 74 vs Mcullough

Introducing the NEW Chief Steamer 75. We LOVE this machine. And we love it not because it’s our biggest and best-performing machine with the highest pressure. It’s our smallest machine. But it still has a pretty big performance. We call this “entry-level,” but we feel it’s far from an entry-level steamer.

We wanted a machine to compete directly with the popular McCullough. We know many people buy that one as their first steamer. It’s inexpensive and offers decent performance for its size.

Here is where we have always had a problem competing in the entry-level area………WE MAKE ALL ITALIAN machines. That simply brings the price up with that statement. There is always far more quality in an Italian steamer. We also ONLY make stainless steel machines. That places us squarely behind the eight-ball in competing on price. HOWEVER, we can make a small machine perform well. Getting the price down was not easy. But we have done that.

The McCullough is a very popular steamer because of its decent performance and price. It’s not designed for commercial use, and it’s not an Italian machine. It will last a much shorter time if used in a commercial setting. But you can’t beat what you get for the price. So, BEFORE we came out with our new 75 machine, a detailer had to make a choice to go either low price but lower performance, or step up and spend the extra $$ on our Chief Steamer 100 and get a commercial, ALL Italian machine, that will perform better. We knew that as well, but we needed a cheaper option. So, we realize that many people will first choose the less expensive steamer and give it a shot.

NOW we think that choice becomes a little easier. Our new Chief Steamer 75 still needs to be at the price of the McCullough. But we can’t do that for the reasons mentioned above. However, we made it with extremely good pressure and steam volume for a machine this size. We still use the same quality hose, gun, and attachments that we have in our other steamers. It’s a stainless steel body. We made it super easy to work on. We made it about as simple as any steamer can get in terms of both ease of use and serviceability. You get great performance and volume of steam, fast heat time, good pressure, and quick recovery time. It is ready in just 7-8 minutes. The size of this machine says it’s “entry-level.” The performance and quality are different. We think this is the one to consider as your first steamer.
